Small Business Counseling Officer

Responsible for implementing a continuum of programs and business advisory services for SBAC borrowers to increase business knowledge, strengthen management capacity. The position will maintain relationships with outside experts/vendors/consultants, funders and government agencies and execute outcome data tracking and the preparation of reports as required by funding partners and senior management.

Responsibilities:
Business Training, Program Administration and Management
* Accomplishes the planning, coordination, implementation, and assessment of all program activity, events, training and workshops in the market.
* Provides one on one support, working directly with entrepreneurs and business owners to support capacity building, business education and business growth.
* Conducts training and facilitates workshops for entrepreneurs and small business owners.
* Ensures organizational goals, reporting guidelines, timelines and program compliance are achieved met.
* Utilizes program-specific tracking systems.
Community Outreach & Relationship Management
* Cultivates good working relationships with key agencies and stakeholders critical to SBAC’s business advisory services, program delivery, business relationships loan and program referral activity, and branding.
* Supports program and lending goals.
* Attends community outreach, events and maintains a calendar of related activity and events in the market.
* Facilitates business networking and peer to peer learning.
* Supports resource development activity as needed, including grant writing and management.

Other Special Considerations:
* Must be able to work nights and weekends where required for program coordination and implementation

Qualifications:
Education and Related Work Experience:
* Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 3 – 5 years of training and technical assistance experience
* Demonstrated knowledge and previous experience in planning and conducting basic, intermediate training programs for diverse audiences
* Lending experience a plus
* Previous experience in the development and facilitation of workshops, panels and one on one coaching, and other business advisory experience. Knowledge of marketing, small business planning, financial management, strategic planning, project management, and community development is strongly preferred.
* Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required

Compensation:

*Salary: $45,000 per year plus benefits including but not limited to, health insurance, life insurance.

Small Business Lending Officer

Position Summary:
Responsible for generating a loan portfolio sourced by a variety of available loan products with loans ranging from $2,500 to $250,000 through direct sales, referrals, and marketing.
Network with bankers, government and community, and business representatives to generate loans, promote SBAC, and increase client contact in and around Savannah and Rural Georgia.
Find, evaluate, and underwrite commercial loan applications.
Prepare qualified loan applications for presentation to Loan Committee.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in lending or sales.
Must have Excellent verbal and written skills. Also, working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required

Preferences:
1-5 years of commercial lending or 1-5 years of credit analysis for commercial loan underwriting.
Experience with loan products funded by SBA or other government sources helpful.
Compensation:
Salary: $45,000 +bonus per year plus benefits including but not limited to, health insurance, life insurance.
